New clutch + flywheel installed at Miniworx near Torrance, CA, roughly $2100 job on my 2002 MC

Had been having problems before, the clutch/flywheel felt like it was slipping, car would be jittering when accelerating, definitely felt like there was a loss of power

So now with the new clutch installed, I am still getting some jolting when accerlerating, so I am careful to accerlerate very slowly, but I know this is not normal, I should be able to accelerate at will

Engine light would come on this past week, from all the jittering, Miniworx prior to giving me the car back let me know I should change the spark plugs and I did so today

Haven't drove the car yet but just wanted to know if anyone thought this would be my clutch still causing the jolting in accerleration

How long have you been driving with the new clutch installed? if the jittering is happening from a dead stop then it's because the clutch has not had enough time to break-in properly yet. Typical break-in period for a new clutch is about 500 miles. do NOT launch the car before the clutch is broken in and do not try to drive aggressively or spirited as this well affect the life of the new clutch.

 

So now I have multiple issues after I had my new clutch installed, these include:

- vibrations, jittering when accelerating at a lower RPM
- reduction in gas mileage
- sometimes very rough idle
- check engine light comes on every now and then

In the past month, I've replaced the spark plugs and changed the oil also

My mechanic previously said the tranny was going out too and I am wondering if that is the case here

 

That very well could be the case. How many miles have you put on the new clutch since you had it installed? I know when I had my stage 1 clutch and lightweight flywheel installed on my jetta the jittering when pulling away from a stop didn't go away until i had around 600 miles on the clutch of stop and go traffic. If it is just jittering at low rpm and not from a standing start (slipping the clutch to get going) idk what to tell ya'. Have the code checked out and I'm sure that will reveal the cause, or at least part of the root of your problem.

 

So far I have put about 1200 miles on the new clutch and it still has the jittering so now I am really afraid it is the transmission, yeah I am going to have to take this in unfortunately
