Antenna cover smashed - 2006 Cabrio
Hi! I did a bonehead move yesterday and backed out of the garage before the door had opened all the way. The door stopped about 1" above my top so there is no damage to my car top, but my antenna didn't clear it.
The antenna is fine, but the plastic covering that covers the electronics got ripped off and is broken. It makes a lot of noise going down the interstate with the wind whistling through it so I'd like to get it replaced ASAP.
Any advice on both a) proper name of part and b) how to replace it? Can a person with no special tools repair it? I have a base 2006 cabrio.
Thanks!

It's called the antenna base (65206931565 w/ nav system, 65206929760 normal). You might need the fixing nut too (65206925347).
It should be easy, but you may want to invest in a "no mark" toolset to help remove any paneling. That being said, I've never worked on a convertible in that area ...

I have a question on this...my girlfriend has a base 2005 mini, not a convertible; her antenna started leaking and water was dripping into the backseat through the plastic voer in the ceiling. We already have a new antenna and I started pulling off the stripping and getting the roof down so I can get at the fixing nut. Just curious if anybody knows what size that nut is for removal and also is this pretty easy to do? It looks pretty cut and dry, I just dont know if there is some hidden monster of a problem coming at me tomorrow afternoon. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thank you.
