Help Replacing antenna

My girlfriend has a base 2005 mini, not a convertible. Her antenna started leaking and water was dripping into the backseat through the plastic cover in the ceiling. I dont know if a seal in there went bad or what. We already have a new antenna and I started pulling off the stripping and getting the roof down so I can get at the fixing nut. Just curious if anybody knows what size that nut is for removal and also is this pretty easy to do? It looks pretty cut and dry, I just dont know if there is some hidden monster of a problem coming at me tomorrow afternoon. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thank you.

My gf's '06 R53 also leaks water from the antenna. When it rains hard the water leaks from that plastic cover into the back seats. I've been looking into replacing the antenna as well since I suspect there may be a broken seal.

Sorry I don't know what size that nut is, but when you do replace the antenna please let me know if it solved the water leak issue.

Thanks.

Any updates on this? Did replacing the antenna fix the leaking problem?
