Class-action lawsuit - window issues

I have an '02 R50 that has had window issues for years. The windows stop going up and down, and warranty fixes use the same cheap parts that may or may not remedy the problem for very long. I have used the Fonzie Fix (hitting the door above the speaker) with success for years, but now that has stopped working. I have read many forums with similar stories, and how Mini mechanics attest to the widespread issues with the window motors and/or regulators. I think it is time we poll Mini owners who would like to participate in a Class-Action lawsuit to get this issues rolled up(pun intended) for good. I am in touch with legal representation, and anyone interested feel free to contact me. We pay premium price for these little cars, and the shoddy part should not be tolerated.

My email is cruxster@lavonweb.net.

It is a 10 year old car - you will not get anywhere with a lawsuit.

Give them some credit for trying. It takes someone to step up to the plate. I agree that something should be done about the windows and timing chain tensioner. They extended the warranty on the hpfp and they may be able to address others.

Yea, but the hpfp extemded warranty is for 10 years. The issue he is describing is already at 10 years. For a successful suit, it needed to be initiated 4 or 5 years ago. 10 years is still considered end-of-life for automobiles.

I've never once heard of this issue. While I don't care about the suit, I'd like to see these forum discussions referenced, so I know what I have to look forward to. Otherwise, this is just an isolated case, as far as I can see.

Thank God.
Lawsuit lovers like this killed the small airplane building business in the us...
It too tort reform (lawsuit) to limit the number of years a builder was responsible for a part....
i pray folks like this don't start causing the same issues on our cars.
Lets face it, 10+ year old cars break....
And i bet if, as the op said, the same old parts no longer fix the issue, he needs a better mechanics to find the problem, rather than just the symptom..
Sounds like his issue might be more with the warrenty company.
