Water Pump Recall
This is my first post on here. I received a recall letter back in June of 2013. Of course I had to have 3,000 dollars worth of repairs Jan 2013. I even called Mini North America to ask them if they were aware of any issue's with water pump failing thus causing super charger issues as well. They said NO. Shocking., NOT...
I've called them numerous times since June of 2013 and each time I get the check is on it's way. Then I was told they would send out before the end of the year. I just called them today and found out it's going to be another 2 to 3 weeks due to banking issue. I highly doubt it will be sent out in 2 to 3 weeks.
I love my Mini and I take better care of her than I would a child. Seeing how Mini treats it's customers., I highly doubt I can recommend purchasing a mini cooper if the customer service can't be honest with me.
Sorry for rambling.
Signed,

The recall is for the auxiliary water pump, not the main water pump for the engine. The auxiliary pump is the electric pump that keeps the turbocharger cool after the car has run for a while. It was known to occasionally catch fire and burn the car to the ground.
The bad news: Your car isn't covered by the NHTSA safety recall.
The good news: It isn't prone to randomly burning to the ground.
You have a first-gen MINI, not a second-gen one. Because you mention a "supercharger", which is what the first-gen MINI Cooper S models have.
