help 08 MCS cranks but no start
I replaced the head gasket did not drive the car just let it idle 15-30 min a day for 5-6 days all was fine (tags were expired) so got a trip permit drove off all was fine stop by a gas station put super in and as soon as i leave the gas station the car stalls and will not restart just cranks. So i think to my self they put diesel in it? walk back to the gas station they don't sell diesel. towed it back home pulled codes 2982 and 2983 both are inlet camshaft sensor codes any ideas on how to check the sensor before i buy a new one? i have an oscilloscope and voltmeter just need specs? or could it be something else? car has 76k on it.

If its the fuel pump then why the camshaft sensor code? did more digging my all-data specs told me to tighten camshaft and exhaust shaft bolts to 10NM. I believe that czar in another post said it is 20NM + 180 degree turn for cam and 90 degre for exhaust? mine are all set at 10NM? could this be the problem?

Ok well here we go my bad on my part. The exhaust valves are bent as far as i can tell from looking at the valve springs. So I will be removing the head AGAIN to see what the damage is. I'm thinking I under tightened the bottom timing chain bolt which came lose at higher rpms and bent the valves. So far I am in for $260 parts and maybe 6 hours tear apart and 8 hours to put back together. If any one wants to know the outcome post your replies, that way I wont feel like I am talking to my self heh heh. No biggie right?

Well THE BEAST is alive its purring like a lion. 3 hours and 20 min to remove everything and 8 hours and 20 min to put everything back together. 3 hours of which were spent on removing and installing valves would have been a lot less if I went and bought some valve spring compression tools instead of using my father in laws post revolutionary hand made compression tool, funky looking thing did the job tough. Total cost 259.56 for valves and 62.47 valve stem seal kit, and a ruined weekend according to my wife.
