{I posted this over on RoadFly, where there has been a lot of discussion on this topic. I thought I'd bring it over here too and hopefully get more exposure....}

I think I'm a likely candidate. I've been having quite a bit of problem with the SES light coming on - I've already had the wiring harness replaced, but the problem is still there. The problem manifests itself when I first start the car -- it won't "catch", having to turn over many times with the starter. When it finally starts, the SES light will be lit.

Also, it will occasionally go into this behavior where the car runs fine, except that it won't hold an idle. Any time I take my foot off the gas (when shifting, etc) the RPMs will drop off quickly to 0 and the car dies. This behavior continues for some time, sometimes resulting in the addition of the EML light and the joys of "limp-home mode". I've come to discover that the best solution for all of this is to turn off the car and let it sit for about 15 minutes, at which time everything is back to normal.

Because the behavior is so unpredictable and intermittent, I'm hesitant to take it to the dealer again (because of the hassle).

I need to get a scan-tool to check the codes it's throwing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I was looking at the digimoto sofware, which works with the ELM based ISO interface. However, I've sent a couple emails to info@digimoto.com per the website and haven't gotten a response.

Man....you just paid good money for a car that is warranted. I would drop it off and not pick it up until it was certified fixed. If I was having an issue with the service department of my dealership, I would be onto MINI Customer Service, ASAP.. You do have rights, make them count.
