Indicator/warning light question.

2007 MCS. What I see is a red car on a lift in the tach display, and the "brake" warning lamp lit up on the tach warning lights. In my manual it says that combo means "vehicle electronics failed, you cannot continue your journey", but the car runs fine. I called a mechanic at Eurotech in Tempe. He said the car up on a lift means it needs servicing/inspection, and the "brake" lit up means its low on brake fluid. They both lit up the same time. What say you? I should add that my front brakes estimator of needing replacement in the service section says time is up for that, so I figured these warnings are all about that. The manual disagrees.

That's correct.

It could be that, or there's a failure in the brake system itself... or the e-brake switch on the lever is failing.

Either way, you'll want it looked at, making sure the pads haven't worn passed their minimum, and making sure fluid is up to level.
Remember, brake fluid is to be flushed out every 2 years.

"Brake" light lit up can also mean that one of the pad sensors has been worn and is telling you that you need new brake pads. This will also cause the Red Car on a lift light as well.

Some more info would also help like how many miles on the
car, do you drive mostly in town or hwy., have the brakes
ever been replaced?
Do the brakes feel mushy or spongy, is there any vibration, or
grab and go feeling or any pulling to one side or the other.
