Power loss under heavy load

Power loss under heavy load
I recently bought my first Mini. A 2009 JCW. It's been running great for the first 30 days I've had it but it did something funny the other day. I searched the forum and didn't come across this issue.
I started up a hill and when I got to 3rd gear and 3/4 throttle and 3500 to 4000 rpm, the engine cut power. I let off the throttle and rolled back on slowly in the same gear and it was fine. It did it a second time today when I got after it a bit. This time I hit about 4000 rpm in second gear at 3/4 to WOT and it cut again. I quickly shifted to 3 and again slowly rolled into the throttle and all was fine again.
Has anyone had experience with this? I'm still under factory warranty so I need to know if this is an issue Mini needs to address prior to 50,000k. Any thoughts?

Sounds like either a fuel delivery issue, or an overboost condition where the ECU reduces power to protect the engine.
YES! Bring it in and have them address such; it's something that they need to look over.
