Gen 2 MCS huge lack of power after recall
Have recently had my 2010 2nd generation Cooper S cabrio in the dealer for the water pump recall. Water pump was changed hassle free but now the car seems very slow, almost as if the turbo is not boosting properly.
I told the dealer this and they took the car back in to reassess the problem, however found nothing and say there are no fault codes etc..
Could this be HPFP? Or perhaps something has not been reconnected properly?
The car drives ok but there is just no power when you put your foot down. I've also noticed less exhaust popping and less induction noise when Sport button is pressed, although don't know if this is anything to do with the lack of power problem.
Any help/similar experiences would be hugely appreciated as the dealer seems clueless.
Thanks.
Engine Fan also comes on very regularly after turning the car off??

They may have forgotten to plug the waste gate control solenoid back in - its in the wiring harness that they have to unplug/re-plug during the aux water pump replacement. This would leave you with 0 boost, but I figure it would give you a code...
My dealer left the harness completely loose (though at least completely plugged in) after the service, right next to the radiator fan...
