Help, dtc code 2BD4
My R55 is at the dealer and is retrieving code 2BD2 which is equivalent to a SAE P0697 ("Sensor Reference Voltage C Circuit/Open"). Mini Has no clue what the problem is. Mini's diagnostic software shows the same description as this guy: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...e-failure.html
"P2BD4 - DME: Monitoring, Power Supply 3, Sensor CY320"
Code instantly reappears if cleared.
Code references the CY320 which is the bosch voltage monitor chip inside the DME.
Any help appreciated.

Phil,
what year is the car and is it an "S" or "non S"
I had similar, but not exactly the same codes telling me sensors were not good yet every sensor checked fine when tested or replaced. The problem ended up being a blocked intake tube to the filter box. Three MINI dealers and two independent shops could not figure it out.
Took me 10 minutes of my time to correct the problem that NONE of them noticed.

Here is the thread about it.

Let me do some digging on the code. are there any others showing up. Many times if the code is odd like yours there is more than one and can sometimes be hard to read.

Yes, it took a DME replacement to solve mine. Car also had a bad alternator. It still charged but the voltage sense line was causing a code as well. You should replace the DME and sell the car these mini's are highly flawed and engineered to take your money and not be user serviceable.
If you end up needing an alternator I ended up with an extra I would sell.

I replaced the DME and these codes went away. But the main issue was the car idles very poorly and engine shuts off unless I raise rpm to 1500-2000.
The pre-cat oxygen sensor readings are very low, car is running too lean.
Sometimes triggers O2 pre-cat sensor plausibility, and Too Lean.
I disconnected the sensor and still same idling problems ...no other error codes.
