Timing Chain Replacement
#2
I have not replaced the timing chain, but I had to retime the engine, which essentially involves removing the timing chain and re-installing.
The job can be broken down into accessing / removing the camshaft sprocket (a camshaft DIY will help here), and timing cover removal (look for a crank pulley removal DIY).
It's not a difficult job, but takes time and patience. The most difficult parts are removing the crank pulley, and tightening the cam bolt without disturbing the engine timing. Special tools are available for both, which make the tasks dead simple. Otherwise, you'll need to be resourceful / creative.
