Fuel Pump, passenger side too??
There are TWO fuel pumps in the R53, so does anyone have the part number for the RH side?
My MCS getting a a P0300 and P0313 codes, which read low fuel level and Cylinder #2 misfire. I replaced the LH fuel pump in summer 11'.
Modified R53's with DINAN parts have this issue, but mine is not,
Or could it be the leak diagnosis pump?
Any help is appreiciated!![Grin](https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/images/smilies/grin.gif)

Did you mean the fuel filter on the right hand side/passenger side? I thought R53s had only one fuel pump on the LH...? If it's the leak diagnostic pump you're talking about: 16-13-6-801-158.

My MINI tech told me it is a fuel pressure regulator w/pump, and usually fails quicker when injectors or pulleys are changed. He says the DINAN shop here in San Jose is constantly replacing that part. I've read in my Bentley manual the R53 has a dual pump system. Still wondering what exactly is on the RH side, underneath the back seat.

I believe the fuel filter is located underneath the passenger side rear seat; figure 8: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...eplacement.htm

My 2008 R52 with just over 36,000 miles was just diagnosed with a failed fuel pump. Estimate from MINI dealer is $1018. Is it common for a fuel pump to fail so early? How can I be reasonably certain that they've properly diagnosed the problem and I won't be paying a grand for something that could have been fixed with a 50 cent fuse?
Should I ask them to replace the fuel filter too while they are in there?
By the way, I love the Pelican Parts repair pages. If I had time and a little more mechanical experience, I might have given it a do-it-yourself try.
Best not to dive right into full gasoline tanks I suppose.

Find a good independent shop. Source the part from Pelican or Mini Parts South Atlanta, and take it to the shop so that you only pay labor. In CA, the shop rate is ... $175/hr. The shop I use, a reputable shop in Oakland (Bay Bridge Motors) charges less than $100 /hr. They replaced my part for $200, not including the part price.

In too deep? Did you agree to have them perform the work already?
