My headlight washer stopped working today. the reservoir was full but when I turned my headlights on and pulled the wiper control, only the winshield washer sprayed, the headlight mechanism would stick out but no spray?! I lifted the hood to see if I could see anything wrong ---- nada. I called my mini dealer and they were actually helpful: they said that some people had been coming in for nonspraying windshield wipers and that it was caused by a kinked supply tube. So I go back under the hood and sure enough on the drivers side hood hinge where the supply hose comes up to run to the headlights there is a plastic pvc corrugated tube that protects the supply hose. Apparently with all the opening and closing of the hood this had worked its way up and away from the hood hinge area and the tube was caught behind the hinge. I could not really see this well but when I slid the pvc tube back toward the hinge I felt the rubber supply tube pop loose and when I closed the hood the headlight washer was spaying!

Just thought I'd post this in case anyone else had this problem.

Also how often does the headlight spray turn on? It seems I get a spray for the lights only with the first winshield wash. If I pull it again the headlight spray does not come out. To get it to come out again I need to turn the engine off and on again. I wonder if this is programable. the manual is not very helpful ; it just says it sprays "at intervals".

and thats my post for the day

I think the headlight washer operates every 4th time, if I remeber what I read on here before.

Thanks for the tip on the hose!

Yup every 4th time and I believe the lights have to be on also.
