Does anyone know where the fill plug is on the transaxel on a 2007 Mini automatic? Also how much fluid does it take?
Thanks

Allegedly, the automatic transaxles have a 'lifetime' fluid fill; so I'm not sure whether a fill hole was provided.

That said, somewhere on the forum I remember seeing a recent thread discussing the relative merits of changing the fluid, and the "how's and where's" of doing so. You might search for that.

This thread will get you started, https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...rain-fill.html

Lots of good information there.

For more, just use the search feature for "Automatic transmission".

The easiest way to fill the auto is to pump the fluid up and into the transmission using a fill adapter that screws into the drain plug. Only takes a few minutes!

The pan holds about 2 quarts of fluid. I don't recall the number of quarts for the entire unit, less than ten.

Lifetime fluid is not true for my car, even though that sticker was on my transmission and the dealer claimed it as well, but my owners manual service book states 100k service interval for the transmission fluid. Another user reported VW's interval on this same transmission is 40k miles.
