popping/clunk noise

I'm getting a popping/clunk noise from front left suspension only when cold. It happens when driving 25 mph over bumps in the road. Any ideas?

Loose engine or transmission mounts have been known to do that.

Think I've found the problem. I adjusted one of the rubber absorber things under the hood and I'm pretty sure that will solve my issue. The hood was rattling when hitting bumps, so happy it was this minor of an issue.

Well the hood was not the problem, the dealer is telling me the upper strut mount is failing on a new car. I am hoping I did not make a mistake buying a mini.
