P1497
I have a '07 Cooper S and I keep getting the code P1497. The meaning I get off of my scanner is that is is a manufacturer controlled auxiliary emissions controls. No clue what it means though and can't seem to find anything online. Any ideas? I also got some secondary codes: P0012 and P000A.

* MINI DTC P1497 (0x2B64) - Downstream Throttle Air Leak
What the ECU is seeing is some sort of leak that's past the intake manifold.
Now, if you've checked the entire boost pipe system for leaks, and completed a smoke test with no result, it's something internal.
What that translates to is a common crack / leak in the valve cover or integrated PCV system in the valve cover.
* MINI DTC P0012 (0x287D or 0x287E) - 'A' Camshaft Position Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 1)
* MINI DTC P0012 (0x2D5A) - VANOS Intake: Closed-loop control fault, camshaft sticks
The ECU is seeing a mechanical mis-position on the intake camshaft.
That's either because of physical mistiming of the engine, or the timing chain has too much slack in it.
Have that checked IMMEDIATELY!
* MINI DTC P000A (0x287D) - 'A' Camshaft Position Slow Response (Bank 1)
The ECU is detecting a slow response with the camshaft in relationship to top-dead center (TDC) of the engine.
Verify that camshaft position sensors are working and are not at fault.
Otherwise, engine timing is most likely out of specification and must be reset.
Have it checked IMMEDIATELY!

Problem solved?

Just wondering if you ever found the cause to this? I’m having the exact same problems
