Boost leak

I've been hearing a very noticeable air leak noise while on boost -- certainly not the normal turbo sounds. I looked and found that a tube had become partially dislodged at a junction. Please refer to the attached photos.

I can't tell if there is possibly a gasket in there that is damaged. In photo #2 you can see a bit of material popping out. I tried to just man-handle and cram the tube back in with no luck.

Do I need to buy some new parts? How do I loosen or disconnect the clamp that should be keeping the junction tight? It's not obvious to me on first glance.

Thank you very much for any help!

I can't see what access to the tubes clamps you have but using Murphy's Law, they are probably orientated in a way you can't service them without taking the whole tube out. It just needs to be tightened. If you can't tighten it with the way the clam is oriented, you'll need to take the whole tube out.

Not sure what make/year/model you've got, but from the picture I'm guessing something circa 2009 Mini Cooper S . The problem you've got there is with the charge air system. In the diagram linked below, you might want to try parts 2, 7 and 8.

It's hard to diagnose from the picture alone if the tubing is damaged and needs to be fully replaced.

You don't need to buy new parts! Just take the tube out, tighten it, and put it back in. It's FREE

Hmmm. I think where he's indicated the problem in his photo the piping is bonded (not 100% sure since I've got the turbocharged D version and the charge air setup is slightly different than the S model) so it probably needs replacing.

Would really need to actually see the car to make a more concrete assessment. The problem is that he can't leave it like that or he'll get fine particulate debris sucked in and that will damage the internals.

I was able to get in there and figure out what's wrong. In the parts link that MiniDeLux posted the junction in question is part 7 connecting to part 8. There is a rubber gasket on the metal end of part 7 that was damaged. That was the bit of material sticking out in my photo #2.

I connected everything back up as best I could but I do want to replace the gasket. Does anyone have a part number or know where I could find it?

edit: And sorry I didn't post this originally: 2009 Clubman S.

It is likely that you'll have to purchase the section of the piping to get the gasket. It was like that when the rubber seal for the turbo inlet on my Mini cracked. The rubber seal for the inlet piping is not sold individually, I had to purchase the length of piping between the MAF and turbo inlet to get the gasket.
