Exhaust leakage issue?

Hi,

I have a quick question, and hopefully folks can tell me if this is normal or not. I bought this car as a used car. It's a 2009 JCW. A friend of mine noticed that the exhaust had this leakage stains (see attached picture). And I was wondering if this is normal or not.

Let me know.

Thanks.

Most mufflers have tiny drain holes somewhere on them. But I don't think thats where they would be... seems like poor welds between the tailpipe and the muffler.

That's where the holes should be. The water in the exhaust gas is making some nice carbon soup!

Guys, thanks a lot for your feedback. I'll ask Mini to take a look when I bring it in for servicing. Thanks!
