Crankcase Pulley Failure

So, it happened to me last night. On the way home from LAX. Luckily, I was slow speed, just getting on the highway. Plenty of room to pull over on the shoulder. Long ride in a tow truck to Steve's Auto Clinic. Great job guys.

I had the usual indications, all the lights on the dash, no power, burning rubber smell.
Luckily, no other damage to the car.

I have 89,000 miles on the car.

Yep, its a common failure. Hope you went with an aftermarket ATI or fluid type and not OEM again.

Sorry to hear that. Same thing happen to mine at 74k. Time for an ATI damper. Not cheap. I debated going with an M7 crank pulley or similar but spent the extra $$$ for the ATI. Plan on keeping the car for a while so I think its money well spent.

Good luck!
