P2119 - Service Engine Light
I have 2007 MCS (R52) that has been running fine with no problems since I bought it 4 months ago.
I drover it over 80 miles yesterday with no issues, but today when I cranked it up, the EML/ASC lights came on and the car was limp with little acceleration. I check the plugs, coil and anything else that I thought might come loose and after a few minutes the car started fine.
I drove it for about 15-20 miles and on the way home the EML, ASC, and the Service Engine light all came on and the car went limp again.
I passed by a Advance Auto Parts and the plugged the diagnostic tool into the computer and it came back with an error code P2119, No DTC Definition Found. After a few mins the car started up like normal but engine light stays on.
I checked other threads and saw the following...
P2119 Throttle Actuator Control Throttle Body Range/Performance
I cannot find anything on the "No DTC Definition Found"
Is this a bad Throttle Body or something more serious?
Thanks...

When you say check the connection, you mean the electrical cable connected to the throttle body?
As for the butter fly, you mean when I remove the intake hose that connects to the throttle body and look at the metal flap?
Thanks..

OK...Check the connection and it looks fine...the metal connectors look nice. I used the air pump and blew the connectors just in case.
The engine turned off. I had to replace the low light bulbs and after I did that about 15mins, I turned the car back on to check the light and the engine light came back on.
It's a little to dark now, so I cannot check the butterfly, plus I don't have a replacement clamp for the hose, but I will pick one up tomorrow and check it.
So don't think the throttle body itself might be bad?
Thanks

OK removed the throttle bottle and clean it with one of those micro fiber rags that don't shed or produce lint that I sprayed with a Throttle Body cleaner.
The throttle body did have a little bit of carbon build up, but not too much.
I also used an air hose to clean it up. I checked the connection and everything looked good.
I installed back and turned the car on. The service engine light went away.
I have been driving now for a couple days and no issues, so only time will tell I guess.
Questions...
1 - Does the throttle body get fuel through one of the hoses?
2 - Would a new aftermarket cold air intake cause this issue? I installed the Cravenspeed CAI, which removes one of hoses that go into the intake and the back cowl.
Thanks for your help.
