Slow speed fan is dead
Hey everyone,
The slow speed fan on my '03 Cooper is dead. My car has a build date of 12/02, according to many sources, I will likely need the fan with 2 wires. The cut off line is supposed to be 3/03, but I read some 2/03 owners has the newer 1 wire fan in their car.
Question is, before I order the new fan, is there a way to determine whether I should order 2 wire vs. 1 wire without taking the front end apart?
Your wisdom is deeply appreciated.

If you still have high speed, squeeze the life outa your stock fan. If you have the 2 plug set up, you can do the same bypass I did here:

I'd bet your stock fan will probably last longer than a new fan's resistor. When low is called, I get high speed. A/C & engine are now cooler!
