Mini Cooper speed sensor replacement fault

Mini Cooper speed sensor replacement fault
I had to replace the front left wheel bearing on my 2007 MCS. I didn't remove the speed sensor first and subsequently broke it so I ordered a replacement from JC Whitney. I fitted the replacement and the DSC/ warning light trio came on as soon as the hub is turned even a small amount. Assuming the replacement sensor was faulty I ordered another but it fails the same way. I didn't have this problem prior to replacing the bearing hub.
I've been searching to see if there's a reset that needs to be performed however nearly all the advice i've found states that just fitting the replacement then driving around will make the lights go out. I've been driving the car for 2 weeks and it's not automatically reset.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like when you got the new speed sensor make sure its the right one, also make sure when you connect the blue color end into the terminal socket it makes contact.
For the front
#2 is the ABS sensor which connects to the top of #5 near the wheel bearing. Follow the dotted line. #7 is the wheel bearing
Here is the ABS sensor and here is the wheel bearings. When you replace the wheel bearing there is sometimes build up with gunk on the sensor which scraps it . Make sure the sensor are not damaged and clean them off with a towel. Also clean out the area where the old wheel bearing was.
Check the ABS sensor , it has to be clicked into the male side all the way. There is little clips on the side that should clip all the way down on the plug side. Also check to make sure the pins are not bent and line up according to the orientation of the other connection. Most people don't clip these all the way in , which is like the Brake pad wear sensor. And then show the ABS light.
The black end side also should fit flush on the top of the #5 the axle carrier and use the screw to tighten it down. Which the head of the sensor should run close to the back of the wheel bearing.

I think you have an 2007 Gen 2 MINI now the sound of it, this is the Gen 1 MINI forums, so I was thinking your MINI was a 2007 MINI Convertible R52 Gen 1 above.
Does it look like this?
If so, then you have a Gen 2 MINI Cooper S 2007 also called an R56 by the R code. That new sensor you got was for a Gen 1 MINI with the square head and not the right one from that other company.
This is the Gen 2 sensor front ABS sensor. Part number 34526851500

What was the part number on the wheel bearing?
Thanks
