P0336 Crank Position Sensor

I had this code pull today on my R53.... It was raining exceptionally hard so I hope this was the issue... Does anyone know possible reasons for this to pull? Symptoms were EML light, brake wear light and DSC, With major engine hesitations. ... Turned off car, let sit for 5min and it didn't come back with 90 miles of driving. Hoping it was just because of the rain??anyone else had this happen?

Is the code still present? Do you have the original battery? Batteries on the MINI's can cause the lights to come on and for things to act up.

It is a Duralast battery, so has been replaced once. I will try to pull code again in the morning , I have a 250 mile drive.. the battery was dead when replacing the SC, but has charged itself during normal use. Needed to be jumped twice total seeing as it was 35degrees outside on a 20 min charge on the battery. I will repost tomorrow if code is still present. Light has gone away and it was a "pending" code which I thought was strange to see out of the Torque app.

Definately get the battery checked out then. Like I said MINI's are known for problems with weak batteries.
