Climate control malfunction?

Climate control malfunction?
Last weekend I put in an Aux cable into my 2005 S. This required taking the stereo out. After this, twice I have had a malfunction state with my climate control. I have only had the car for a couple of weeks, so not sure if this is coincidence or not. I will check the cables to see if I pulled something loose, but usually these things clip in right?

The symptoms are when the car is started, the fan goes to max and the automatic climate control buttons are not responsive. Turning the car off (and maybe removing the key) and restarting has "fixed" it both times. Anyone else seen this weirdness?

Check and see if the fan switch is getting stuck in the up position. I had this happen to my 07. the pivot point would stick and in turn max the fan out until i unstuck the ****.

I do wonder if the excess cable from my aux port is hitting something behind the AC control panel. Or maybe I wiggled a cable a little lose. Not sure why turning the car of and restarting it would fix it, other than its a software reboot.

Also, could something blocking one of the two sensor holes on startup, cause an issue? I noticed that my sons knee was over the right one, and my coffee cup is just above it. I will try starting it tomorrow without him in the car and see

Yes , sometimes people spill coffee or drinks on the pivot point on the fan switch on the interface. Make sure its not sticking .

You can see for the auto climate control display the cup holder sets very close to the top right fan rocker button.

Also there is a main plug harness that sets behind the auto climate control that I would make sure that's connected all the way, since you pulled that out.

It could simply be the cup in the cup holder pressing UP on the fan control now that I think about it, with my sons knee adding extra pressure. I will certainly investigate this possibility!
