How do I clear check engine light?

I took my 2007 R56 to the shop to have them check rough idle and service engine light. They determined it needed the o2 sensor replaced. I replaced it myself and now it is running fine again. I just need to know how to reset the check engine light. I have the K+CAN diagnostic cable and have used NCSExpert to code a few different things. Is there a way to reset the check engine liight with this tool? If so would somoene be so kind as to post a step by step for me?

I don't know about the tool. But if you fixed the problem, the light will go away after a little driving.
On first gen cars, you can unplug the battery for 30 mins and reset the ecu.

Or go to Autozone, they can clear it with their Scan Tool. I've cleared mine before by unplugging the battery and waiting a while.

INPA is installed along with NCS expert, you can read all of the codes (including ones that don't set the light) and see what is recorded, as well as clear the codes for every module on the car (it is fascinating really, there is so much recorded). INPA also allows for many other procedures, like resetting the windows, registering battery changes, diagnostics on every individual light, diagnostics on every indivdual HVAC, ABS, engine component. Like you can run individual pumps and motors, run sound tests on each speaker, etc.

Also, if you want a nicer interface, you can locate DISv57 and get that running.

Unhook the battery and step on the breaks or turn the headlights on/off and leave it to sit for 30-60 min and that should clear out the ECU like everyone is saying. My local Auto-zone WILL NOT clear CEL, they will check them for you, but not clear them.

your shop should have been able to clear the light/code

it ain't rocket science and does not require MINI specific equipment

you may want to reconsider where you are getting your work done

I'll have to see if I can get INPA working again. The last time I tried to use it all I had for options was <F1> Information <F2> Script and <F10> End

**UPDATE** I was able to get INPA working after blowing it away and a fresh install. It worked like a charm! No more check engine light.
