Personal preference thing. For a little less work, there are a few options for splicing in a new resistor, or just go whole hog and replace the assembly (that's what I did.)
Does your AC work? Did you do a DIY recharge, or pro? I experienced the typical failure - low speed fan goes, then AC overheats at low speed and compressor burns out. Had to replace both. :/
AC is engaging but hot air, did a home recharge,it did add enough to get the compressor to engage,which I was hoping would turn the fan on. Can you supply more info on the splice in resistor,I saw a post about how to. Get to. It but don't want to. Go thru the work without being sure.
