Steering issues.

I've looked for a posting for my issue (for the past 2 hours) but, I haven't had any luck in finding a resolution. My power steering is acting weird. While I am driving, my steering will jerk. It's getting dangerous because I have to drive on a highway that has mountains on one side and a nice cliff with an ocean at the bottom. It's getting to the point where it doesn't matter the speed I go or straightway or turning. I also have a nice leak going and I will be getting a UV system to detect where it's leaking from. There is ps fluid everywhere. I don't know if it's the power steering pump, air in the system, bad hose, rack and pinion or what? I just need some idea of where to look. Thank you in advance for all advice.

When you say jerky, do you mean it goes from easy to steer to hard to steer? IF it does, sound like you power steering pump is on its way out. As far as the leak. The hoses are known to go bad and to start leaking from the heat from the exhaust manifold.
Here is a good link with lots of information.

By jerky I mean, while driving the steering wheel will do a slight but noticabley strong jerk then correct itself multiple times. Its not like oh I felt a shift. Its more like try to hold the steering wheel steady or the passenger saying damn, I felt that. My bf thinks its the rack and not the pump. Im hoping its just the hose and air is getting in the system.

Have your suspension & steering systems checked. Among the checks- Kick your front tires front to back. If there's movement, your lower control arm bushes are toast.
