What's wrong with my air con?

Usually when I want to pull hard, I turn off the a/c.
But I left it on the other day, now the ac is dead. Coincidence?
How do I know which part of the A/C system died?
When I hit the ac button, the high speed fan no longer comes on, it just blows ambient air.
