Next step is likely a compression check....then a bit more work...doing it wet/dry or maybe a leakdown to determine if you have a possible valve issue or low compression....things that few folks can diy unless they have done quite a bit with cars. About the only other diy thing...and it is borderline for some and a bit of a long shoot, is moving a fuel injector for that cylinder ( with new o-rings) and seeing if the misife follows the moved part.
Burnt valves are kinda common....folks use lower octane gas than required....

Let me go into a little more detail about when I said erratic I meant that I can drive 100 miles at times and then come to a light and I get the misfire or it could be 3 miles and it happens but not every time i go to idle. some times it doesn't happen for a couple days then it happens multiple times in 15 minutes there is no reason for when it might misfire. I hate chasing ghost.
