P0341 camshaft sensor condition error

Just trying to probe your mind. P0341 error

Autozone code says that it's a 'cam sensor condition'

Various solutions from them in likelihood of occurance are:

1. Cam sensor defective
2. Check connector and wiring to sensor
3. Engine mechanical condition. Timing belt/chain out of time
4. Cylinder misfire

Loss of power when punching it. The light goes off when coming to a complete stop out of gear (manual tranny) but comes back on under any hard acceleration. Thoughts?

Sounds like a timing issue. Any rattles on cold start? If not you could swap vanos solenoids as a test pretty easily. You could remove the valve cover and mechanically test the adjustment unit and also look at the condition of your timing chain/upper guides.
