Is THIS the sound of a bad power steering pump?

Trying to figure out what all the noise is about in my 2006 MCS JCW.
Anyone care to view the YouTube video and tell me what you think?

I would venture to say, yes power steering pump. Unfortunately the recent extended warranty/ replacement program that Mini started does not cover your build date.

Yes, this IS the sound of a bad power steering pump

I had time to get under my MCS JCW this last weekend to check it out. First I disconnected the power to the PSP fan to see if that was the culprit. No such luck. Then I disconnected the power to the pump and the sound was gone. This pump is screaming for replacement. Now, does anyone have a source for a good price on a rebuilt? I've seen comments that some rebuilts can be noisier than new ones, but the new ones are so expensive! Yikes! I am doing the repair myself and will save a lot doing so, but the cost of these pumps is outrageous! Anyone got a source suggestion for me? Also, I've read that replacing the fan AND the reservoir are also recommended. Anyone have any comments on that issue?

Why not try appealing to Mini? We had a Jeep that spit gas out of the filler tube, and we were outside the range. Ended up costing me $100 copay, whereas the ones inside the range were free.
