Intermittent Sunroof, not the typical grease problem

I've tried searching all over this forum and all over google, my sunroof works extremely intermittently, when it does work, it works flawlessly. But there is no in-between.

It seems electrical to me.

I replaced the switch 3 times with replacements from a junkyard, and I just replaced the entire sunroof motor with module, as soon as the I installed the new motor the sunroof worked great for about 5 minutes, then completely stopped again.

Any suggestions?! Thanks in advance!

I don't know the sunroof system well,... But maybe others could chime in on my logic here.

Sounds like it could be a relay that gets stuck, so I'd check to see if there is a relay in the circuit, then test it (or tap on it lightly with the back of a screw driver). Also could just be a short, check wires at all plugs and connectors, do a continuity check with a multimeter.

Thats my 2cents.... Overpriced I know.

Check the grounds?
A bad/high resistance ground can cause failures in motors/etc similar to what you are having...
Maybe some corrosion on them, or a chafed wire.

well now I'm finding out that if I unplug my battery and my ecu,
and then plug it all back in, my sunroof will work on the next start up until I shut the
car off.

then it stops working again!
