Water pump/SC oil
Hello!
I'm starting to round out parts that I would need to do a water pump install. MINI is near 110k and want it to keep going. I know I'm going to need a few tools, and if I do this myself, what else would be worth replacing or upgrading?
I figure this would be a good time to do a 15% SC pulley and belt, cooler plugs, but what else? Where would be best to get water pump? I have seen a Gates one for $110.

I would have some GM super charger oil on hand along with any needed SC gaskets and check the SC oil on both sides. Install a new thermostat with gasket, change the coolant. While replacing the belt install a new tensioner assembly with an Alta stop, and perhaps a new idler pulley. My idler pulley split in half at 70k.
Before you start ordering parts, take a look at your harmonic balancer to see if the rubber donut is showing signs of cracking. If so get one while your doing the tensioner.
Shifter cables will fail without warning. At 100k miles you're probably getting close.
Control arm bushings 75 to 100k. Easy to check. With the car on the ground put a wheel wrench or breaker bar on a lug and bear down on it like you're tightening the wheel. If the wheel shifts forward or back while applying pressure (not the car) good chance those are ready to replace.
After 100k you have to really want to own a MINI. I still enjoy mine after 11years as much as the day I bought it. But it seems every week there is something else wrong. I'm at 165k
