Window motor and doors locks FAILED! Need cheap parts.

Hey everyone,

So I started to hate my Mini because both windows motors have faild, as well as the doors locks. It started with the passenger side, then to the driver side. Now, I need to get new motors and locks. Could you guys please direct me into a good website to order them. I have a 2003 Mini Cooper S. Thank you

Well, there are lots of vendors here on the site that are all good (see their forum links) and you could also buy used from the classified.

The thing is that there are different brands. There are cheap ones and more expansive ones. I found this one for only $54.60, World Source One brand. and $119.70, Genuine MINI brand. Have you heard of the world source one? and how good is it?

you usally get what you pay for. I dont think the word cheap comes to mind when looking for Mini parts. Go with one of the vendors here. spend a little extra now and only have to do the job once.

I would get the door lock actuators (the part I'm assuming has failed) from Way Motor Works. I think that they are the genuine MINI part, and the new ones I have replaced (in both of our R50's) sound and seem much more robust than the original units. Door locks are more important, IMHO, so I would order those first and while the door is open see if it's a loose connection or something like that to your window motors. Many of us here have gotten window motors to work again by banging above the speakers so there must be some sort of intermittent connection issue going on with those.

@Valvashon. Thanks a lot for the information. I opened the door myself and checked the motors and I made sure that they are actually bad and need to be replaced. As well as the lock. The price of the locks from Way Motor Works is the same on most of the websites. All what I am not sure about now is if I should get the World Source One motors or the Genuine MINI ones.
