2006 Mini (Manual, non S) Slips out of reverse
Good Day,
The problem isn't consistent, but occasionally when going into reverse on an incline the car slips out of reverse. I have read around and solutions vary from replacing the tranny to switching out the transmission fluid. The clutch isn't slipping or acting funny in any of the forward gears. There is the occasional stiffer shift into first gear while down shifting to a stop. It's almost as if it's not fully locked into the reverse gear. I go about a foot and weeee... out of reverse.
I am going to start with the transmission fluid. After that I will replace the shifter cables. From there I will have to determine whether or not the clutch could be the issue before ultimately having to get into the transmission.
The car has 64k miles on it. Might the tranny be on it way out? Clutch? Shifter Cables?
Any thoughts?
