Those damn glazing tail lights!

How do I get rid of that glazing that turns the lights pretty much white? Instead of buying a new set, I'd rather fix it or tint them with some film for $10. If I end up getting a new set I'm goin LED, which will not be nice to my bank account. So if there is any way to fix it, I'll probably try it. Bought it with the intent to get a new left one in a month or so, but I might as well just replace both since now the other side is gettin a little white. So if you can save me $80 I'll be happy

Pics?

By "glazing" you mean what?

Is it the cloudy micro-scratches from years of wind and grit abrasion, like headlights are prone to getting? If so, get one of those 3M headlight restoration kits. They do a pretty decent job, if you're not in a hurry, and do it right. The kit really helped our old Subaru and CR-V's headlamp lenses...

It's with the tail lights, not the head lights. And it's more white than yellow. Seems like on the inside. Pretty much makes the light turn white.

They get a haze inside the taillight : You can either separate ( sealed unit ) , then heat and bake method then, then polish, but some guys could still not get the haze out.

Thanks ECS! That definitely saves me a good amount of time in research. I'll weigh my options and see what I can go with. For right now, the next job is an oil change.

From what most folks have found, it is the plastic that has become cloudy...either a bad batch of plastic, or maybe a chemical reaction (rain-x can cause some plastics to get cloudy like this)....
Think you can either live with it, or replace them.....
