Replace Oil pan seal again?

06 r53
At my last service (90,00mi) they told me my oil pan seal is starting to seep and it will need replacing when it starts to leak. They just replaced it about 2 years ~60k mi (i used to trust them and I wasn't seeing any loss of oil or spots in the driveway when they replaced it last). Replacing the pan seal every couple years seems crazy.
Is this a normal problem it seems like I've heard it is...
How difficult is it to replace at home?

Anybody ever look at the crank position sensor o-ring?
Often oil pan gaskets are replaced, cause the o-ring drips oil...looking like a failing oil pan gasket...
Some cars do have a few oil pan gaskets fail....but often I wonder about the cps o-ring....

Agree - I had oil all across the bottom of the engine and worried about pan gasket. Then saw the crank sensor posts and RTV'd that and everything is clean and dry now.

So just to be clear, there is a good chance they replaced the gasket on my dime because they didn't know what the real problem was or just really wanted to do an expensive repair...
(This was when I used to trust them)

A shop I take my car has recommended twice in the last 20K miles that my oil pan gasket to be replaced. This is a huge job because the front of the car has to come off. I'm continuing to postpone - there is no oil on the driveway and no loss discernible on the dipstick which makes it a seep rather than a leak in my book, at least when the repair costs $800+. Whichever it is, I'd do both if/when you are in there. And have a look at the supercharger oil as well.

Maybe not...but possible...a good shop usually knows, but not always....trust is built overtime...I'd hope they did what was in YOUR best interest.. (It did fix the issue for a bit right...so it was likely leaking)...car repair in kinda inexact....a lot of judgment, educated guesses, etc....just make sure they look at the o-ring before doing another $$ repair..maybe they did, and it was OK at the time....
Oil pan gaskets do go...about as often as cps o-rings.....
One tip...dealers should have a 2 year warrenty on the gasket (if it was one)...
