Ambient air temp sensor- replaced and still have SES
About 2 weeks ago I got the flashing -40ºF and SES light. I checked the sensor and the connections and everything look kosher. So I cleared the SES with my code reader to have it come right back. Then I tried doing a ECU erase and then pulled the power from the battery. Nothing.
I then purchased a new sensor, connector, and wires, replaced everything, re-cleared the code and the SES went away..... So I thought. As I toggled between settings on the tach screen whilst driving, I hit the temp and the -40ºF came back and so did the SES. I tried clearing the code but it didn't go away.
Is there something I'm overlooking or doing wrong. The SES is really bugging me and I would prefer not to have to make the journey to see the dealer out of town.
Quick facts:
2006 R53
No other codes
Light will not go away.
