Won't crank, won't push start. EWS Issue?

Won't crank, won't push start. EWS Issue?
So I get back to my car that had been sitting at the airport for a week and it won't start. I get normal ignition lights (CEL, other cautions/warnings) but no crank at all. Being close to a freeway and fairly loud outside I couldn't hear a solenoid click but I tried a jump start anyway - no luck.
After that I removed the heat shield and tapped on the starter - no luck.
Then I tried a push start a few times with another car and there was absolutely no indication it even tried to start.
From what I'm reading it appears the EWS system includes disabling of the ignition, fuel AND starter. Does that make sense? If so it seems to match my issue. I only have one key and haven't had a chance to check fuses.
I see the clutch switch is integrated into the system somehow. I did check that and there were no apparent loose wires, nor have I fiddled with it lately.
Any thoughts?

Solved. It was the battery, but there's a tad more to the story.
I thought I could rule out the battery/power source as a jump from a running car and a jump from a loose, extra battery didn't help. I checked all the fuses and nothing was bad.
What solved it was disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes then reconnecting. After that, when I tried to start it it clicked and flashed interior and exterior lights rhythmically - more classic low battery symptoms. Before that nothing happened when I went the start position - the normal dash lights just stayed lit continually. I was able to push start it myself and it fired right up.
My theory is that the old battery got low enough while sitting in the cold for a week that the computers got confused. A battery disconnect "reset" everything but then the bad battery showed itself once I tried to start it.
Got an EverStart MAXX H5 (Johnson Controls) at Walmart for $99.97 after the core return. Fits perfectly - better than the too-short Interstate MT-47 it replaced.
