Lost compression in cylinder 2

I just got home from getting my car looked at. It's been stuttering, and i found i lost compression in my second cylinder. the dealer i took it too said that this could cost up to 8,000 dollars and i don't have that kind of money. i was looking online and found a refurbished compression head for around 1300 and someone who would instal it. What's my best course of action?

thanks

I'd suggest getting a second opinion. They should be able to tell you where the problem is for a small amount of diagnostic time. Did the dealer give you any specifics?
