Idle issue after supercharger replacement

I just changed out my supercharger for a new OEM one and changed the BPV to a Chicago tuned one. I started the car and it idled fine for maybe a min and than started idling really high. tripped code P0507 (rpm higher than expected). It doesn't sound right. I have a Garmin that runs gauges off the OBD2 and it shows engine usage at 65%+. The idle will go up and down. Then when I shut the engine off it seems to stop rough. Any suggestions?

Also I seem to have developed a leak at the top passenger side of the radiator after this work. I bleed the system well I believe. Is there something I could have done wrong there?

Well, I don't know. If it feels underpowered, maybe misfiring at low rpms, I'd say boost leak, but I came from a turboed past, so I'm not real sure on S/C yet. I will be once I do my sprintex swap though! I wouldn't imagine its some sort of sensor, it would have thrown some other code, had it been a TPS sensor, etc.

I would check all of your vacuum lines for starters, and everything to your BPV. Also could try spraying starting fluid around your gaskets, if the idle goes up any higher, you have a gasket leak.

What the hells a Chicago tuned BPV? Maybe that's why your idle is messed up, your BPV came from the wrong city! Lol

I think your supposed to reset the ecu when you put in that new BPV. Instructions are on the Detroit website I think, or wherever those things are sold.

It shouldn't make it idle high though. Not unless the spring is broken on it.

Yup, sounds like a vacuum leak, go back in and check all your connections and also check the lines themselves for cracks.

did the idle stay at a certain RPM or did it bounce? check and make sure the intercooler boots are seated properly then check the intake tube then the vac lines under the intercooler and behind the supercharger

Good luck! My S/C starting making very loud noises a few days ago. Looks like I'll be taking it off over the holiday!!! :( Did you just buy a full replacement. I think I'll just rebuild mine. The bearings are dried up and going out of it, everything else seems to be in tip-top shape.

This is the only issue I've ever had. AND I HAVE BAD LUCK WITH CARS! I've finally found a car that has been good to me. I'm sorry that you feel this way.

Vacuum leak at a vac line or gasket, no doubt about it. Just focus on the parts that you recently removed or installed and you'll find the issue.

check that green seal I was telling you about that is on the inlet to the supercharger. That can cause that and is easy to not get in place.

took it all apart this morning. found that the inlet tube to the supercharger's plastic was broken where the screw holds it in place. Also it looked like the green seal was not aligned right. I ordered a new tube and seal from Way Motor Works this morning. Hope this will solve the issue. Will report back when done.

Got it all back together started up extremely low up-and-down idle and then it died now will not hold enough idle to stay running. About to give up and call tow truck send it to the shop.

Can you rpm the car at all? And if so does it seem to smooth out any?

still sounds like a vacuum leak only bigger this time, honestly, did you check the undersides of the incooler couplers. i didn't realize mine were not over the bottom till i bolted the intercooler back down. big pain!!
