I started my car this morning and a half full check engine light came on as well as a little tachomter symbol with an arrow pointing to it. The car idles between 1000-1500 rpm and fluctuates. Anyone know what's up as I haven't pulled the code yet and mini can't get me in until next Tuesday.

I'm assuming you have an 07 Cooper S with your user name. I had the same issue with mine. It could be due to cold weather, in which moisture is making its way from the intake to the throttle body and freezing the motor. You may need the updated intake installed to avoid this issue. The dealer split the cost with me due to it being a known issue.
