rear-ended
Bugger! Got rear-ended yesterday 1 mile from home. Classic. Waiting for clearing to turn right on red and BLAMMO. His car looked a hell of a lot worse off than mine (2006 MINI Cooper S - 57,000 miles). First hit for the little beemer in 8 years of first-ownership. While I was planning on parting with it, this was not what I had in mind.
Just caught the top of my bumper and mooshed in the boot tray area and of course the rear hatch (which now can't close). Near-center shot which seemed to avoid boogering rear lights but I still can't imagine this will be inexpensive.
Any recommendations for dos/don'ts? Including a proper repair shop in Northern Virginia. Thanks for any help!

Sorry to see that happen to you. I don't know the shops in your area but there is a tip I pass on to people that don't know where to have body work done. If you know of any high end dealerships (RR, Ferrari, Maserati, etc.) in your area there's a good chance they don't have a body shop because of the small volume of cars they deal in. However, that doesn't mean they don't have occasional need for body work to be done. Ask them who they use. You can be sure they know the best shops in the area. Don't be surprised if it's some little shop off the alley somewhere. The quality of the job depends on the man doing the work and not necessarily the shop.
