Feb/2002 Strut retrofit.
I need to replace my suspension, nothing fancy, I'll go OE. My car was built feb/2002, has the weird suspension and can't find anything but original equipment, twice the price as those built after 3/2002.
Has anyone changed the front suspension? Can I reuse the springs? I tried different website, but found no info or "Call you local dealer". I found some threads listing the parts I need, but made no reference to the springs.
Comments welcome.
Thanks.

I have a 2002 MCS with the Sport Suspension. I used Pelican Parts and purchased their Sachs Sport struts for all 4 corners along with all of the associated mounts etc. I also had them ship me tower support plates from Maddness. I selected the Sachs because I no longer track my car and I wanted to maintain the original factory ride. These did the trick and I'm glad I went with the Sachs, they were quite affordable through Pelican.
BTW, the Madness tower support plates pulled the slight mushroom down level again when I tightened the installation bolts.
If you're doing your struts you might as well replace your control arm bushings if you haven't already.

I sent a message to Pelican, I was told the only option for my car is the OEM. I was planning on changing the support plates and the sway bar IF I can reuse the springs. If I can't reuse the springs, then I will have to stay with the current configuration, pay premium for OEM struts and use the car for another 100k....or until it drops flat on its belly.
I do need to change one of the control arm bushings, might as well change both sides.
Thank you for your reply.
