Is this coil pack shot?

I had some work done on my car last summer, and after having some major misfiring this week, I realized that when the work was done, someone forgot to put a boot on the coil pack.

Looks like the coil was arcing just above the insulation on the plug, you can definitely see where the plug and coil are burnt.

Could not having the boot have caused this, or did the coil just go bad? Think its repairable?

Thanks,
Nick

Looks like arching and getting hot near the boot, damaged the boot. I would just replace it so you don't have another problem down the road. Are you still misfiring. Also inspect them all along with the plugs, just to make sure you don't have another one arching.

Looks like you have an R56 Cooper S by your name, Cooper S/ JCW coils have the upper metal sleeve, ( Nos S ) Gen 2 MINIs have the full rubberized plastic shaft.

Snap the top plug into place , then snap the top down, and then plus down snug on the coil into place on the valve cover.
