any recommendations for a transmission shop in Sacramento?

Hello all. I'm in need of a shop that can work on Mini transmissions in Sacramento. Has anyone in this forum worked with anyone they can recommend?

You might want to say a little bit about your problem. Like if you have a standard or auto, if you need a clutch or fluid change?

Havent you posted this in various locations on NAM already? lol The best thing to do is ask around your area by word of mouth as well. Talk to people at the parts stores. Other mechanics. But whatever you do...dont take it to someone that says "I think" we can do it! You will regret that at your own dime!

@Zippy yeah, you've responded to one of my posts. Thought this might get some more eyeballs on it.

@checkers and anyone else: here's the problem I'm trying to solve https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...6-post377.html

agentorange I can't help in Sac. I live in Modesto and I go to one of three shops. (Custom Mini Fresno, Edge motors Pleasanton and Bay Bridge motors Oakland). Custom Mini has the lowest labor rate and Steve does real good work. Hope this helps. Give one or all of them a call and tell them your problem. All of them have a web page

I might do Bay Bridge Motors in Oakland. I commute back and forth from Sac to the Bay over the course of the week. My concern was something might happen on the drive down and really jack up the tranny, or that the labor rates would be lower in Sac. But I haven't found many options there, so I might need to expand my search here.

Also glad I have 100 miles towing from AAA.

Ha. My parents took their BMW there for years. I called about 3 times and never got a definitive quote on whether they could do the work and about how much it might cost. But they did tell me they were backed up for 2-3 weeks and could get to it then.

I think I'm going to have the Mini towed to Bay Bridge motors in Oakland. It's just under the 100 miles AAA covers me for and they had the ability to turn the car around in a day.
