Water from exhaust and bubble in coolant tank while starting
Hi Guys
Car is a 2011 Mayfair Cooper S
While accelarating on highway blew out a lot of water from exhaust(enough to cover whole back window)
Pulled over to check and there is no coolant in expansion tank
Nursed it back home and left the car in the garage overnight.
Next day car would start and idle very roughly for 5-10 seconds and stall, while starting there would be a lot of bubbles in coolant tank.
After stalling once the car wouldn't start again.
Did a compression test and all 4 cylinder came back okay at 150+ psi
Drained oil, no milky residue(car had just had its oil change the day before this happened, so it is understandble)
Pulled head and now found this
The white stuff is a bit oily, guessing this is water that has mixed with the oil?it is everywhere in the engine block
The head gasket seems fine though I have ordered a new one with some ARP head studs
The only place it could have been broken seems to be this
Anything else i should check for or should i just clean the stuff up and replace the gasket?
