Power Steering?

I've got an 04 R50 with about 137,000 miles. The engine runs great and never had any issues.

When I cold start the engine, it runs perfectly. After about 15-20 seconds the RPM's stay constant, but get kind of a deep vibration that comes and goes. The power steering whine is quite noticeable at this point and every time I slightly move the steering the RPM's drop for a second and get more vibration.

The other thing that has been happening is that I will get what sounds like a vibration on the firewall somewhere in front of the passenger. It doesn't seem to be an engine issue as it runs great and the noise comes and goes, but I only hear it when I idle.

I'm assuming that a faulty power steering pump might be the cause of all of these issues, but wanted to get some input from the community.

Thanks for any help, Anthony.

The power steering pump being electrical does take a draw on the power system. Check the alternator or your battery, if you are losing power so much its a stumble it could be the alt or the battery. Then go towards the PS pump. But I would check the voltage drop also.

For the PS pump &Fan there was a recall on certain years, so keep that in mind.

Thanks
