Update.....2012 S Towed To Dealer

With 50500 miles my wife's Cooper S is having electrical issues.......

First the footwell, dome and mood lights stopped working.
Then the low battery/discharge warning appeared.
Also a couple of nights ago the passenger right front driving light was on with the vehicle off!

Hopefully the extended warranty will cover this!

I have a '12 MCS with about 6 months of warranty left. Which extended warranty did you go with or are you CPO?

It could be just a bad battery. All kinds of weird electrical things happen when the battery starts to fail.

I can tell you why the passenger right front driving light was on:
After you turn off the ignition, if you hit the turn signal stalk left or right, the parking lights will stay on for the side chosen.
Its a European parking feature when parking in small streets!

Update.......

Tech tested battery....1 dead cell.
To proceed we would have to buy a new one at $380 plus $185 to register the battery.OUCH!

Tech found a faulty module that was not allowing the battery to charge, thus killing it and creating the interior light issue.

The extended warranty covered the module cost and labor but will not cover the battery.

SW called MINI and they are gonna cover the battery and registration.

Turned out good!
